We have two sizes of plots

18m X 6 m First Year £295.00 and £220.00 per year there after

9 m X 6 m First Year £185.00 and £110.00 per year there after

Yes just contact Maurice directly and we can arrange a voucher for you.

Yes we have an area set aside for this, but we do ask that you do not put household waste into this as it does create problems with rodents.

Dogs are most welcome provided they are kept under control.

We have no one as yet keeping chickens on the plot, but would welcome anyone wanting to give it a go. Please bear in mind that you would have to visit twice a day and they must be well fenced in.

Ok the weather is sometimes not perfect, but that is one of the biggest joys of growing when you fight with all that mother nature can throw at, but what a buzz you can get when you go to harvest  those vegetable and fruit you have grown.

Yes, however we ask that you get approval before erection.

Yes, we want to encourage all of our plot holders to cook and eat their produce on-site and also build up a community atmosphere. Maurice stated, “By barbequing the food on-site, not only can the allotment holders enjoy the fresh air and views, they can also turn unhealthy and expensive food miles into cost efficient and healthy food metres.”

You can grow anything from vegetables to flowers, but there are certain restrictions on trees.

Maurice has a lifetime of knowledge and experience and will be only too happy to advise you at any time; there is a wealth of knowledge by the plot owners already, so when you take a plot just lean over the fence and ask your neighbour.

Preferably 16 years old but if you are younger than this, and an adult is prepared to supervise you there should not be a problem.

Your first year has to be paid up front, but the following year you can pay in quarter instalments Nov, Dec, Jan & February

For security reasons the gates to the plots are locked so you would need to contact Maurice who lives beside the plots, if you would like to visit and arrange a time.

There is however a path way along the edge of the plots where you get a good view.

We have our Open Day in June / July  each year.But because of Covid 19 we had to cancel last year, so plaese check with us first.

All rent are due on the 1st Dec each year.

When travelling to the plots please use the co-ordinates: North 54 – 34.177 West 005 – 41.880 on your sat nav. Using the postcode will take you to the Scrabo side of the Comber Road, this is incorrect. We are on the Shore side.

The plots are accessible by car or bike or walking, they are located one mile out of Newtownards.

There is a bus stop on the main road, at the entrance to the farmyard.
